Beatrice explains why for her sleep is the key to manage to stay at the top in some of the toughest endurance races in the world: 

"Sleep is the most underestimated trick for amateur athletes, and the most effective strategy to get good results, after a good preparation. Professionals understand its value, amateurs often spend money on the best gear and then go sleep-deprived. I’ve heard people claiming that light shoes or compression socks give you 3 minutes less on a marathon. I can tell you that I did all my best times when I managed to sleep the longest, and my worst times when, for some reason, I had too little sleep (and even though I was wearing my best gear)."

For Beatrice one of the key elements for how to sleep better is to establish a sleep routine;

"Two days before a race, I stop drinking coffee or tea, to make sure I fall asleep easily. That is normally enough for me to be able to relax, because in the evening I am simply tired."
